Bio
Alberto Odone
Alberto Odone works in the field of music listening education. Since the beginning of his teaching career, he has been engaged in research aimed at addressing the long-standing shortcomings of the Italian context in this area. His work draws on the study of musical theory and psychology, practical experimentation, and close contact with the international scene through advanced training abroad (in France, Germany, and at the International Kodály Institute of Music Pedagogy in Kecskemét, Hungary), as well as through an extensive teaching activity. He has delivered over 150 courses in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Latvia, in addition to numerous Italian institutions.
The results of this work have been presented in a series of articles published in specialized journals and in books issued by Ricordi, Mondadori, and Curci (Milan), as well as Rivera/Impromptu (Valencia, Spain). He is a member of the editorial board of the Rivista di Analisi e Teoria Musicale (LIM).
He currently teaches at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Milan. Previously, at the Como Conservatory, he designed and launched—after a decade of experimentation—alternative-methodology courses in Ear Training and Basic Music Education.
He has collaborated with the Italian Ministry of University and Research and with INDIRE on teacher training programs.
He is currently pursuing a PhD at PIAMS (Milan).
He is the conductor of the Chanson d’Aube Vocal Ensemble of Milan, with which he has given over 500 concerts in Italy and abroad.
